What are you reading?

I just finished reading Debbie MaCombers book Lonesome Cowboy & Texas Two Step and started the next 2 books of hers. I really enjoyed Vol. 1 of the Heart of Texas series. As I read the story of life in Promise Texas I often thought of my friend Terra and her family. Hey Terra, is there a ghost town near by? :) If you have not read any of her books you must give her a try! Visit her website at DebbieMacomber.com Got any good books you have read you want to tell me about? I plan to take a huge box up to the store soon to trade in so give me some ideas. How's reading going for the kiddos this year? Curtis is still reading what he likes and wanting to go to the book store all the time. Still very much into the magna books. Drives me nuts. Who wants to read a book from back to front? Oh well at least he reads.

What to do?

I have worked in home daycare the last 23 years. I totally love helping to raise all these little ones and enjoy almost every single day of work! We take a week off in the summer and go on vacation and I get a day off here and there from one or two kiddo's but never have I been off for a whole week from everyone at the same time when we were not gone for vacation. I am lost without my kiddo's in tow! Got up this morning and cooked too many eggs for just James and Curtis (I do not eat before 11 so I didn't want them), had housework done by 11 and worked on Christmas shirts and read email (where is everyone?) and now am here working on the blog a bit. I will finish ready my book while I wait in the parking lot to pick Curtis up from school. We will come home and enjoy the fact it will be just he and I when it is homework time. Wonder if he will know how to do homework with little ones trying to get his papers! ;)
I have a feeling this will be a long week for me. I have planned some Dr. appts. DO I HAVE TO GO? Also have a day planned to work on the Christmas Village at Mom's house. We are taking this one down (it has been up in the Living room all year.. hehehe) and putting a train around it. I hope I can make it work. We totally love the way this one is but it was time to change things up a bit so we are in the middle of it and must move forward! see picture above.
Alright I think I have chatted long enough. Hope Gavin, Brayden, Drake, Blayne have a wonderful time in the Bahamas! I miss the little stinkers!

Don't mess around with Jim!

Are you bored yet with all the singing? :) Be thankful I did not record me on here!

Daddy & Curtis time

Here's James and Curtis singing a part of a song. Hard to get this on tape at jsut the right spots. I have more to upload so hang tight! Damn if they don't look just alike. :)

Memories

Way back in 1979 my mom made this cross stitch thing for my grandfather. We were living in South Georgia when she made it. I remember it like yesterday! Anyway, she was cleaning out a closet the other day and came across it, so passed it down to me. I am so excited to have it. She is also giving me the big picture that sits in her dinning room of him and I will have the picture with this art work beside it. Little James has his wallet and glasses and I think we have his atlas (he was a bus driver then a truck driver) and I want to make a shadow box with that stuff in it. Granddaddy Pete was a hoot! Always making us laugh and always had a story to tell. Mom made this picture for him because of the story he always told her growing up when she would ask for a toy or something.
As told by my mom Glenda on Oct. 18. 2008. "When we were growing up we would ask daddy for things and he always had a story about his ship. He would say "why sure you can have that, just as soon as my ship comes in, but right now it's out to sea and being shot at". Sometimes the ship would just be lost at sea other times it was sinking!
We sure do miss ya Grandaddy Pete!

My Loopies

We live in a wonderful world full of things my grandparents so would not understand. Heck even my mother doesn't understand at times and she is becoming pretty computer smart! I can ask my daughter-in-law how her loopies are doing and she totally knows what I mean. Then we catch each other up on our loops and go right on with our day. My grandparents would think I am talking bad about someone who isn't very smart. I wonder what my grandchildren will be doing one day (when they are 40ish) and will they still be forming friendships over the computer and sharing with loopies? I have 2 loops I am a part of. They take turns on when to be active. Mostly my Kindergroup loop is the busy one. My Dec. 1998 loop is slow mostly now. But gosh we have all been together since 1997/1998 when some were just planning for our Dec. 98 kiddos. Funny, I still call my loops by the name they started with, but in all honestly they mean so much more to me than the names imply! As the days, weeks, months, and years go by each of us have ups and downs in our life's. It is nice to have our little bonds and know everyone is just an email away! Just having a gotta tell ya I love ya kinda a day. So loopies, I love ya and am thankful for the friendships we have formed!

As most of you know James is a touch older than I am and we grew up with different taste in music. We both loved the 80's music (since that's when we met, dated, and married) but he also loves old music. I am not sure when Jim Croce (spelling?) was big but he sings his songs often and Curtis seems to love his music as well. He can sing this song so well, when I am not in front of him with the camera! Stage fright maybe? So bare with it as he gets started. And sorry about the other sounds in the background.
